blogging blues
I've been having a hard time motivating myself to keep up with my blog lately. I'm going to Vermont for the weekend, so hopefully I come back feeling refreshed and ready to share!

the big 80
Last week my family celebrated my grandfather's 80th birthday with a little surprise party at my house. He is full-blooded Polish, so we decided it would be nice to celebrate the occasion with some classic Polish dishes and some of his favorite treats. He loved it!

ride in style
restaurant time
Before the holidays it was my friend/roommate's birthday and to celebrate we went out for dinner with our other roomie. We went to Stella in the South End of Boston, and let me tell you, it was yummy!
The small space has a very relaxed atmosphere but at the same time offers classiness and a romantic vibe with dim lighting and candles. Our waiter was great and made a lot of helpful suggestions (his southern accent was also adorable).
Everything on the menu sounded delicious but I was craving pasta and went for the classic spaghetti and meatballs. It was a great choice, the pasta and sauce were great, and the meatballs had a kick of spice that made them different from any meatball I've ever had and really brought the dish together. Oh...and the portion was HUGE. The birthday girl got gnocchi and Emily ordered a specialty pizza, and after sampling both, along with ordering the tiramisu for dessert, I determined Stella was definitely a winner.
On a college budget, Stella was a little out of my everyday price range, but for a special occasion it's a superb option. I recommend you check it out, but make reservations!
p.s. I just love the name too!

goals for the week
My school is still on winter break, but I decided to come back early and work this week to try and pay off my Christmas bills! Needless to say, besides work, there is not much going on around town so this is the week to get a lot of things done. My goals for the week include:1. Morning stretching
2. Get a head start on all the books I need to read for my next & last semester
3. Work on my scarf
4. Get started on life after college
Happy Monday everyone, hope we all can stick to our goals!
